Weaponess was created to close a gap that shouldn’t exist.

After years of solo travel across more than twenty countries, I experienced firsthand the difference between feeling prepared, and actually being prepared.

Situations that required quick thinking, resilience, and improvisation highlighted just how fragmented and inadequate existing products were for women navigating the world independently.

Women today are traveling further, moving more freely, and doing it on their own terms,  but the gear designed to support them hasn’t evolved at the same pace. Safety tools often feel ugly, impractical, or entirely aimed at men. Travel essentials are scattered, inconsistent, and rarely designed with real-world female experiences in mind. Survival and outdoor stores are male centred, with ugly camo and macho branding.
